Product description Specification

The plywood construction of Piet Hein Eek's Crisis Chair is CNC routered to obtain its shape. The techniques used for the pieces are meant to bring attention to the material at hand. The surface of the chair is left rough around the edges, scratching easily, continuously giving character to the furniture pieces.

Design: Piet Hein Eek
Material: Plywood laquered, upholstery
Dimensions: 41 x 53 x H82 cm, seat height: 49 cm

Crisis furniture is made of plywood sheet material (pressed wood). Woodgrain still slightly shows when lacquered. 100% smooth/filler is possible (additional cost).

Handcrafted in the Netherlands

Piet Hein Eek

Dutch designer Piet Hein Eek’s work embodies the concepts of transformation and reinvention. Spanning furniture design, architecture and fine art, Eek elevates discarded, quotidian and unorthodox materials into pieces that make a strong case for the design as art conversation.
