Kiki van Eijk
Kiki van Eijk, born in 1978, is a young Dutch glass, ceramics, textiles, lighting, carpets and furniture designer. In 2000 she graduated with honors from one of the best design schools - Design Academy Eindhoven. Kiki has developed a recognizable style, her designs are expressive, emotional, sometimes even funny. The artist combines the old with what is contemporary, using traditional techniques and modern innovations. Objects created by her are original and unique. She is well known for her famous "Carpet Kiki", inspired by the English doll house from the XIX century. Nowadays she mainly focuses on creating own collections in her design studio, which are presented in galleries, museums and on exhibitions around the world - in London , Paris, Milan, Venice, New York, Tokyo, Rome, Amsterdam, Moscow and Holon.
In addition to her own projects, she is working with many companies and institutions, such as Studio Edelkoort in Paris, Academy of Design in Eindhoven, Nodus, Moooi, Häagen-Dazs, Serax, Bernhardt Design, Forbo Flooring, Venice Projects, Hermès, Saint-Louis, Noord Brabants Museum, Laikingland, Rijksmuseum, La Montre Hermès and private collectors. Her works are published worldwide in Elle Deco, Wallpaper, Harpers Bazaar, Vogue, DE Architect, Icon Magazine, Glamour, New York Times, The International Design Year Book, and so forth.
