The Fundament Collection by Arno Declerq explores a balance between rawness and refinement, strength and control. Drawing from the geometric discipline of Art Deco, the clarity of Modernism, and the material honesty of Brutalism, the collection develops these influences into a distinct avant-brutalist language.

Burned wood and burned steel define the collection, treated not simply as finishes but as transformative processes. Fire reveals the character of each material, deepening its texture, tone, and imperfections. Patinated and burned steel — long part of Declerq’s vocabulary — is further developed through bent-steel constructions that provide structural strength while allowing for lighter, more precise volumes.

Every piece is developed and shaped by hand in Arno Declerq’s own ateliers, without automated processes or CNC. Fully made to measure and customizable, the collection can be adapted to residential and hospitality interiors, working in direct dialogue with the architecture and intention of each space.

Arno Declercq

Born in 1994, Arno Declercq is a Belgium art dealer & designer making sculptural objects for interiors with great passion for history, craft, design and atmosphere. Arno grew up with influential parents with an affinity for beautifully crafted pieces. His fashion designer father designed for Bikkembergs and amassed a 20-year-old collection of African art objects. His mother was the proprietor of a contemporary shoe boutique and sold brands such as Rick Owens, Ann Demeulemeester, Maison Martin Margiela.​ After many travels and studies of African art, Arno recognizes the importance and preservation of its culture and art form.
